TEXAS HOLDEM
Texas Holdem is a poker community
card game with four betting rounds on each hand of poker.
The game is played with a normal 52 card deck, including four
suits - Diamonds, Clubs, Spades and Hearts. The card ranking
proceeds as follows; 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K,
A. Usually, the Ace is used a high card but it can also be
used in a low straight.
Texas Holdem game starts with
the posting of the blinds, which in essence is automatic bets
by the first two players sitting to the left side of the theoretic
dealer. The theoretical dealer is indicated with a button
that moves clockwise after every hand. The four betting rounds
in a texas holdem game are rounds that follow each card receiving
round. The four rounds of betting in a texas holdem game are
the preflop round, the post flop round, the post turn round,
and the post river round (commonly referred to as the showdown).
At the showdown, the active
players expose their cards and according to the hands they
form they determine the winner. In every texas holdem game
the cards speak for themselves. In other words even if you
do not see that you have the winning hand the dealer is supposed
to indicate the winning hand. The game of texas holdem is
a simple game to learn and play but a difficult game to master. |
